Adobe Camera Raw (ACR)
Adobe’s automatic RAW (ORF) converter and organizer is called Adobe Camera Raw (ACR). It stands apart from other RAW converters in that it enables you to create and modify your own corrections. You can adjust the skin tones, exposure, white balance, contrast, clarity, and other settings to suit your taste.
Additionally, you can choose whether to convert photos to the TIFF format, which is the standard format for storing RAW files. It’s also possible to convert a RAW file to a JPEG in-camera, but the quality will vary depending on the settings used.
ACR also provides a variety of adjustments, such as Adobe Camera Raw, JPEG Profiler, and Sharpening. You can also customize the RAW options and the controls for each of the filters. Some are easier to use than others; for example, the effects filters are more complicated to use than the Lightroom presets.
Prices for Elements vary from the $50 package to the $900.
What it does:
Elements allows you to create and edit raster images, including photographs, illustrations, line art, collages, mobile or desktop backgrounds. The program has all the features of the more-expensive professional version of Photoshop but in a smaller, more accessible package.
The program lets you add, crop, resize, rotate, flip and blur images. The program allows you to manipulate the image with controls that resemble a paintbrush. You can use tools that let you adjust contrast, saturation, shadows, highlights, colour balance, colour replacement and spot healing. You can duplicate, colour, add, combine and layer items. The program is designed with beginners in mind, with tools for enhancing the appearance of images.
You can also create and edit photos and videos in Elements. It offers many features designed for professional photographers, including an integrated automated video camera feature and advanced tools to crop and enhance images. Elements lets you work with advanced image compression. You can also use tools for creating panoramic images.
You can create graphics that includes text, line art, shapes and drawing tools. You can create a variety of effects that you can save in layers or save the entire image and generate a layered PDF for printing or outputting on the web.
You can edit and duplicate layers, and create and edit text. You can crop and straighten images.
You can work with layers, blend modes and filters, provide a variety of creative effects and annotate images with a brush and effects. You can design custom social media, mobile and website layouts. You can import and export GIFs, JPGs and PNGs to and from the web.
The program is available for a wide variety of different platforms, including Windows, Mac, Android, iPad, iPhone and Kindle Fire.

This invention relates generally to methods and apparatus for determining the presence of characteristic hazardous materials in soil. The invention also relates to the sensing of undesirable contaminants in groundwater.
A known method for determining the presence of characteristic hazardous materials in soil is to conduct the test by in situ leaching, i.e. providing for the progressive dissolution of the characteristic hazardous material from the soil through the aqueous phase of the soil to the leachate, which is collected. This method is considered to be the most reliable since the characteristic hazardous material passes to the leachate through the soil and through the groundwater which is ultimately contained in the soil. If the characteristic hazardous material is located in the groundwater beneath the soil, it too passes to the leachate through the soil and through the groundwater.
To utilize this method, a first step involves excavating an area of the soil containing the characteristic hazardous material. The characteristic hazardous material is dissolved from the soil and it is collected in the leachate. The soil is then replaced to the original location.
Thereafter, a second step involves testing the leachate to determine the presence of the characteristic hazardous material. If the characteristic hazardous material is present in the leachate, the characteristic hazardous material must be removed from the soil in accordance with whatever remedial procedure may be required.
In certain cases it is required to determine the presence of undesirable contaminants in groundwater. Usually, such undesirables pass from the groundwater into the soil and are collected in the leachate. For this reason, the presence of undesirable contaminants in groundwater is usually determined by the same method as the presence of the characteristic hazardous material in soil. That is, by first excavating the soil to expose the groundwater and by then testing the leachate to determine the presence of the undesirable contaminant. The undesirable contaminant will be present in the leachate if the undesirable contaminant is located in the groundwater.
Another consideration relating to groundwater is that the leachate is an aqueous solution which contains a wide variety of contaminants. That is, the leachate itself does not contain the characteristic hazardous material and contains other contaminants which can interfere with the test for characteristic hazardous material. Furthermore, the usual destructive sample extractions used to test for the presence of characteristic hazardous materials in soil are inadequate to test for the presence of undesirable contaminants in the soil inasmuch as they can destroy the characteristic hazardous material but do not destroy the undesirable contaminant.
One method of testing for the presence of undesirable contaminants in soil
Yesterday’s game in London was the first time I’ve attended a game with headliner condition J.J. Redick in uniform and I was there to see him. The Clippers took on the Heat, and the Clippers ended up winning 127-114. The first half didn’t look very comfortable. The Clippers gave up the lead to the Heat and had no answer for LeBron James or James Johnson.
The point guards were our problem. The Heat had a great game plan going against Chris Paul, who has the sixth-best defense in the NBA this year. Miami would run their pick and roll to Chris, hit their big man and then run a flare screen to the open James, Iman, or Redick. They also ran a ton of the Jazz pick and pop combination for all three of those players. Redick and Iman were the main ball handlers, and Redick moved the ball well without it. He has improved a ton this year on that part of his game, and it was great to see him making those drives to the basket and scoring.
The first half ended with a Knicks run where Carmelo was hitting wide open J.R. Smiths that he’d actually catch. J.J. had a few shots throughout the game but just couldn’t seem to connect. I’m not sure if it was the defense, the structure, the Clippers not getting good shots, or all of it. None of those point guards are really great shooters and with LeBron James, Wade, and Bosh providing close to 100% coverage in the paint Redick’s job is really tough. He was able to do some great things offensively throughout the game, but he still wasn’t able to look like the J.J. we saw two seasons ago.
I came in thinking that this game would be great to see at headliner-level J.J. I would have much rather seen him play against Boston or Houston than the Heat. The Clippers gave up too many points in the first half. The Clippers would only end up with four players in double figures, and they’re not great starting lineups. Andre Austin started at the two and he’s the Clipper that I would want starting in that spot. This was one of the worst shooting nights that Austin has had in his career, and I’m surprised he even made it to the free throw line, let alone had a
